Legal and privacy

VOXCAN applies Law 25 (Québec) and PIPEDA (Canada). This page describes our rules, without unvalidated contractual commitments.

Terms of use

VOXCAN is a non-partisan citizen information platform. No voting recommendation is issued. Use implies respect for other participants and a ban on hateful or defamatory content.

Personal information (Law 25)

We collect the minimum necessary: email, preferred language and citizen mandate. Political opinions are stored separately from identity and are never sold or shared with a party.

Data retention

The citizen mandate is kept for the current electoral cycle, then anonymized. An account inactive for 24 months is deleted. You may request access, correction or deletion of your data at any time.

Cookies

Only cookies essential to operation and session are used. No advertising cookies, no third-party tracking.

Business model

Essential democratic features are free. VOXCAN is funded by secure citizen donations and by aggregated, anonymized analysis services for institutions, never by selling individual opinions.

Security

Role-based access, encryption in transit and at rest, per-user data isolation enforced at the database level.
